5 Phase I: PEDG 3300 – Human Learning and Development – 15 hours EACH 4303 – Intro. Early Childhood – 15 hours You will do small group work, one on one tutoring, etc. Supervisors for these courses will just visit the mentor teacher. You may/may not be on campus for their visit. You are to be actively involved in the classroom. You are not to sit and watch. Sequence of Courses

6 Phase I: PEDG 3351 – Social Studies Methods – 30 hours Phase II - EC-6 CertificationsSecondary Certifications PEDG 3350 – Math Methods PEDG 3380 – Secondary Curriculum PEDG 3352 – Science Methods PEDG 4380 – Classroom Management PEDG 4340 – Classroom Management SPED 4307 – Inclusion in the Classroom SPED 4311 – Life Skills in the Classroom You will teach two 45 minute lessons for these courses. You will schedule an LU supervisor to watch you teach one of them. You are to be actively involved in the classroom. You are not to sit and watch.

7 Remember: Prerequisites must be met for each course. You must earn a C or better in all teacher preparation courses to progress in the program. You must have your own transportation to your field work campus. It is your responsibility to scheduled day/time that your LU supervisor can watch you teach. It is your responsibility to have your verification form signed each time you visit.

There is a deadline to begin Clinical Teaching!!

9 T-CERT TExES Certification Exam Review for Teachers (T-CERT) is a portal based educator test preparation program provided through a partnership with the Texas Education Agency. The site is designed to enhance the preparation you have received though your teacher preparation program. The T-CERT review includes online content, handouts, presentations, videos, practice questions and scheduled on-line chats with others preparing for the same exam and a subject matter expert. You are required to complete the T-CERT review before registering for the Lamar Proficiency Test. Questions?? See Kylie Thompson 201F

10 Phase III – Clinical Teaching All day on a public school campus for 60 days. All proficiency tests must be passed before you receive a placement.

12 Things to do: NAME BADGE Go to Wimberly Building – 1st floor and have an Clinical ID Badge made – Bring your Lamar ID with you. MY LAMAR You must have a my.lamar.edu account. All intern information will be emailed through my.lamar.edu TRANSPORTATION You are responsible for your own transportation to field placements while in the program. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK Contact the district you selected and find out what you need to do to be on campus. Follow up.

13 Things to bring with you: Make a one page sheet for your mentor: Your name, phone, email Course Schedule Job schedule Possible Dates/Times for your visits Course Requirements

14 Your responsibilities : Complete a Volunteer Background Check in the District you selected. Have transportation to your placement. It is YOUR responsibility to make contact with the campus. If your mentor does not return your phone call or email – JUST SHOW UP! WEAR YOUR NAME BADGE and bring your driver’s license. Introduce yourself to the first person you see in the office and ask about procedures for being on campus.

15 REMEMBER: You are a guest on that campus and this is a job interview for you Journal at HOME about your experience. All course assignments associated with TK20 MUST be attached to receive your course grade. You are NOT to just sit and watch. You should be actively involved in the classroom. Savor this experience. Take time to think about what is going on in the classroom and how it relates to the course you are taking. More responsibilities :
