BELLRINGER How crowded is our country? Do you feel that we live in a country with a high Population Density? Why? Explain in 2 or more sentences. This will begin your notes.

Population Density Population Density - average amount of people per square mile or kilometer. In short, How Crowded Is It? Population density is a huge factor in the growth and culture of a society. Real Population Density: Uses only land that is able to grow food. Allows a more realistic number in regards to deserts or mountains.

The Crowded Box ( Do not copy down) United States- 179 people per usable sq km 1 person, step into the box How much room do you have to move? Do you feel crowded? This represents the Population Density of U.S. in 1:200 ratio.

United States U.S. Population Density: 31/sq. km. Real Population Density: 179/sq. km. Big Houses, Big yards, 77 cars /100 people. Giant malls, flat parking, focus on having biggest stores, largest land. We like large personal space. How crowded are we?

Japan’s Stores? Drinks, snacks, and cigarettes, umbrellas, fried food, underwear, potted plants, toilet paper, etc sold in vending machines. Japan has the highest number of vending machines per capita, with about one machine for every 23 people.
