Motherboard (ROM) In personal computers, a motherboard is the central printed circuit board and holds many of the crucial components of the system, providing connectors for other components.

Power Supply The power supply is the device that supplies electrical energy to one or more electric loads.

Drive Bays A drive bay is the area for adding hardware to a computer. Most drive bays are fixed to the inside of a case, but not all

CPU The central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program, to perform the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of the system.

RAM Random access memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today, it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow stored data to be accessed in any order with a worst case performance of constant time.

Hard Drive A hard drive, also known as a hard disk drive or HDD, is a fundamental part of modern computers. The hard drive is where all of your programs and files are stored, the permanent memory storage.

Fan A Fan is used for active cooling. It is either inside or attached to the computer case.

Expansion Slots/Cards The expansion card is a printed circuit board that can be inserted into an expansion slot of a computer motherboard or backplane to add functionality to a computer system via the expansion bus.

Ports In computer networking, the term port can refer to either physical or virtual connection points.

Connectors The cords and outlets that connect two or more functioning materials.

Computers A computer is a programmable machine designed to sequentially and automatically carry out a sequence of arithmetic or logical operations.
