10.Klassecentret Høje Gladsaxe Denmark On this school you can only take 10th grade. In Denmark you can choose whether you want to take 10th grade or not. There are 8 courses on this school: International: On this course, you work with Europe, the countries and their cultures. Because we work with other countries, we get to go on 2 trips abroad, where the other courses only get 1. This is our class. Drama/music: You do plays and play music. You will perform in front of the school. Creative: On this course, you paint and draw a lot of pictures. You also do a little design and make some sculptures, which are displayed on the school. 3P:The 3 P’s stands for: Pædagogik, psykologi and praktik which means pedagogy, psychology and work experience. On this course, you learn about children and older people. In this course, you get 2 extra weeks of work experience, 6 in total, where the other courses only get 4. These work experiences has to be in kindergartens, schools or rest homes.

10.Klassecentret Høje Gladsaxe Denmark Tek10: On this course, you learn about stuff you need to know to become a bricklayer, carpenter, electrician or a plumper. Society/media: On this course, you study politics and the society, stuff that are going on in the world. You also learn about using PowerPoint and how to make videos and articles. This course is also the editor of the school magazine. Science: Like you might have figured out, you learn about Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. Al through the year on some of the Mondays and Wednesdays, you go to a kind of college, called HTX, to learn more about Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you choose this course physics/chemistry will be obligatory while it’s an optional subject for the other courses.

There are 20 teachers on the school and 200 students on the school. There are 2 on each course. Our teachers on the International course are called Hanne and Frederikke. Apart from International, Hanne teaches us Danish and she teaches some of us German. Only some of us learn German, because it’s an optional subject. Frederikke teaches us math.

We have also got a canteen on the school. They serve fruit, candy, sandwiches, pizza buns, cocoa, juice, tea and coffee. It all has a fair price. There’s also a water fountain that has ice cold water, if you’re not in the mood for cocoa, juice or whatever. There are also daily newspapers, so everyone can catch up on the news everyday.

The school also provides a library and about 50 computers and some laptops. You can also borrow headsets, cameras, calculators, tape recorders.

This school was opened 10 years ago. For 9 years, Bo Palle was the headmaster of the school, but this years it’s a new headmaster called Carsten Bott. Carsten is a cool headmaster, because he doesn’t act like he’s above the rest of us, he sometimes pops in during classes to say hi. Carsten Bott The principa l

Our year at the school can be stressing but doable. The 2nd week of the year, the whole school goes to this camp site- like place. The point of this is to get to know each other better. The last night of the trip, all the classes each does some kind of performance in front of the whole school. We danced to the Danish anthem and we did kind of a cheerleader-dance to Lose Control by Missy Elliot, because Dado from our class is a cheerleader, so she taught us. You also have 3 weeks during the first 6 months where you do some kind of project or report on 3 different subjects: Danish, English and Math. About a month before Christmas, you have to weeks of work experience. You can go out and try a job, go visit some kind of college or you could stay at school and study a subject. In October our class was told that we were going to exchange life stories with a Spanish class (you) and we worked on that project for some lessons and also in our spare time. In the beginning of December we went to Germany for 4 days and learned about Berlin and historical moments and buildings of Germany.

A couple of weeks after New Year we had 2 more weeks with work experience. The whole school is now working on what we call OSO which is a big project where you have to write about your choice of career and do interviews and stuff. If you don’t complete this project, you’re not allowed to enter the exams by the end of the year so it’s important to do it. In the end of March, we’re going to Spain as you know. The whole school is going abroad that week but different places. Then we have the exams.
