Employee of the Quarter 2 nd Quarter 2015 Blake Bricely Terminal Manager - Lorain We received 4 nominations for the 1 st Employee of the Quarter Award. All nominees were worthy, demonstrated excellent work ethics, safety driven, and dedicated to the Beemac Mission Statement. It is with great honor that we announce Blake Bricely of the Lorain, Ohio Terminal as our winner. Blake will receive a $250 gift card as our appreciation of his service to Beemac. Congratulations Blake on a job well done! It is never too early to submit a nominee for the next quarter! CSA Score We continue to monitor and take steps to improve our CSA Scores. These score have a huge impact on future vehicle inspections and insurance costs. The better our scores, the less likely you will be stopped for roadside inspections and we will have to pay less in insurance costs. Both of these are good things for the driver and the company. Please keep your log books current, make sure you do a thorough pre-trip inspection every day, make repairs when needed, replace cut and worn cargo securement devices, keep the inside of your truck clean, secure the deck of your trailer, check your lights, secure your air lines, and replace tires and brakes when required. If your equipment is placed out of service for any reason, even if it is 2 minutes to make a necessary repair or adjustment, this will cost you 2 extra points and also raises the company Out of Service Ratio which could mean the difference of being pulled over for an inspection or being waved through. Accumulated CSA points are reviewed after each inspection. We cannot afford to have drivers who do not take care of their equipment and make the necessary repairs. The company will not hesitate to terminate a lease if CSA scores get too high. These points and reason for lease termination will follow you to your next application, back ground inquiry, and lease. No one wants someone else’s problems. Driving Tip Safe Following Distance – Keep at least 5 seconds between you and the vehicle in front of you. Use a stationary object and count the seconds that lapse from the time the vehicle in front of you passes that object until you pass the same object. If it’s less than 5 seconds, back off and check again. Log Violations Every 15 th of the month, the safety department sends out letters to inform the drivers of their previous months log violations. The original intent was to have these letters signed, returned, and placed into the driver personnel files. We are going back to this intent for the coming months. The format will change and instructions will be provided. Please pay attention to these letters when they arrive. They will become part of the driver personnel/lease file. Log reviews will always be a part of our operation as long as they are required by law. We, as a company, cannot and will not accept inaccurate or false logs, nor will we allow violation to occur without consequences. We are bound by law to monitor and control the Driver’s Hours of Service, and that we will do! Our jobs and the success of Beemac depends on it! Summer Vacation Summer is only half over. Families are still going on vacations. Keep an eye out for these travelers. Most noticeably will be the luggage trunks on their roof or the trailer that they are towing. Also keep an eye out for bikes and motorcycles. PLEASE BE COURTEOUS AND GIVE THEM ROOM! Tractor Lease Purchase Program- Upgrade Your Equipment There are still tractors available for lease purchase International Prostar tractors with the remaining balance of the 500k mile factory warranty.
