EUROPEAN SOIL DATABASE version 1.0 1:1,000,000 Soil geographic database v European Soil Profile Analytical database. HYPRES pedo-transfer functions.
SOIL PROFILE ANALYTICAL DATABASE - SPADE 1 lSoil horizon property data for dominant STUs. Many STUs have no data. lParticle-size, O.C., pH Bulk D., Hydraulic properties, CEC, Base saturation. lMeasured data set -Some missing properties. lEstimated data set - All properties estimated, but method indicated. lOnly one land use per STU - Often not arable.
SPADE2 PROJECT OBJECTIVES lExpand the Estimated soil profile database to include primary soil properties for ALL STUs. For the 15 EU countries only. lPrimary Soil Properties are: clay%, silt%, fine sand%, medium sand%, coarse sand%, organic carbon%, pH, Bulk density.
SPADE2 Project & Database administration lFunded by ECPA. lCo-ordinated by National Soil Resources Institute, Cranfield University, UK (Project manager. J.M. Hollis). lSub-contracts to National data providers from all 15 EU countries
SPADE2 Database administration lFourth component of the European Soil Database. lAvailable under the same terms and conditions as the existing database. lAll ECPA members will hold a royalty free copy.
