Regional Policy I MPLEMENTING A CT ON GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE OF CROSS - BORDER AND TRANSNATIONAL AREAS I MPLEMENTING ACT ON ERDF SUPPORT FOR EACH COOPERATION PROGRAMME

Regional Policy ETC Regulation Article 3(1) and (3) Implementing act on geographical coverage: COM shall adopt the list of cross-border and transnational areas to receive support, broken down by cooperation programme.

Regional Policy Implementing act on geographical coverage will consist of three sections (1) Section I will list the "core areas". These areas may be enlarged if needed, to ensure the coherence and continuity of cooperation programme areas ("adjacent areas"). For information purposes, regions from third countries will be listed under the programme area concerned.

Regional Policy Implementing act on geographical coverage will consist of three sections (2) Section II concerns transnational cooperation areas and will be based on NUTS level 2 regions. Regions of third countries or territories, including from ENI and IPA countries, will be included for information purposes.

Regional Policy Implementing act on geographical coverage will consist of three sections (3) Section III concerns NUTS level 3 regions that were taken into account for the ERDF allocation, but participate in CBC programmes under ENI and IPA.

Regional Policy ETC Regulation Article 4(3) Implementing act on financial resources: COM shall adopt a single decision setting out the list of all cooperation programmes and indicating the amounts of the total ERDF support per programme.

Regional Policy Allocation of financial resources For cross-border cooperation, population in the "core areas" will be used as the criterion for the financial breakdown between Member States. For transnational cooperation, the total population of a Member State will be used as the criterion for the financial breakdown between Member States.

ETC Regulation Article 4(3) Implementing act on financial resources: will also contain the breakdown of resources among the interregional cooperation programmes (INTERREG VC, URBACT, INTERACT, ESPON)

Regional Policy Changes compared to Implementing act on geographical coverage: For programming period, COM will also adopt the list of CBC programmes, whereas in only the list of "core areas" by Member State was adopted. Implementing act on financial resources: For programming period, each COM decision approving an ETC programme will serve as financing decision and not IA.
