1 st IRU-LAS-AULT Seminar on International Transport Agreements The IRU and the AULT organised together with the LAS the first joint seminar on international road transport agreements in Cairo on October On 28 October 2009, the LAS Council of Arab Ministers of Transport called upon 22 Arab States to join and implement the UN Conventions, notably TIR, and to continue cooperation with the IRU. Arab Ministers bids farewell to the first TIR pilot trucks Page 23 (c) International Road Transport Union (IRU) 2012 The League of Arab States (LAS)’s Council of Transport Ministers joined the IRU and the Arab Union of Land Transport (AULT) in Alexandria at a Special Ceremony, to bid farewell to the first two trucks carrying goods from Egypt to Turkey under a special TIR Pilot Project. During the Ceremony, Chairman of the Executive Council Minister of Transport of Egypt H.E. Mohamed Rashad and Chairman of the Council Assembly Minister of Transport of Saudi Arabia H.E. Jabara Bin Eid Al Sourayri delivered the first TIR Carnets for symbolic use.
