WHEN YOU’RE ANGRY

STOP AND CALM DOWN CLOSE YOUR EYES COUNT TO 10 TAKE A DEEP BREATH

THINK OF SOME CHOICES

TELL THE PERSON WHY YOU’RE ANGRY Begin your statement with “I” instead of “you”. “I feel angry when… because….”

LEAVE FOR A WHILE Ask the teacher for permission to leave the classroom for a few minutes. Go to your cool down spot. Decide when you think would be good times to walk away from situations.

RELAX Smile to yourself and clench your teeth. Take a deep breath and hold it. Breathe out slowly, let your mouth drop open, and think about relaxing. Feel the tension drain out of your body from your head to your toes.

TALK TO AN ADULT An adult can help you. Tell the adult how you are feeling.

TRY YOUR BEST CHOICE Choose which skill will help you deal with your anger.
