3 Difference: w Anger is a feeling. It is ok to be angry. w Aggression is acting out. i.e. throwing things, breaking things, hitting, name calling and is not ok.

4 My Triggers: w Being asked to do a task when you have not finished the one you are doing. w Being talked over. w Doing all the housework.

5 1. Exercise every day. 2. Eat right. 3. Get enough sleep. 4. Learn to relax. 5. Know your feelings. 6. Write about those feelings. (Diary) Ways to Keep Cool:

6 ANGER MANAGEMENT w I don’t have to hold on to my anger. 1. I find ways to let it go safely 2. I talk about hurt and angry feelings. 3. I look for someone to discuss my anger. 4. I discuss my words and actions that hurt others.

7 Controlling Anger Safely: w Remember, it is healthy to let anger out in a safe way! w Keep your voice quiet and slow w Breath slowly, learn relaxation exercises

8 Steps: 1 w When you are ANGRY and UPSET remember… w THINK before you ACT w Take a “Time Out”

9 2 w Take 3 Deep Breaths - Count to ten w Time to RELAX w Calm yourself down
