RECOGNITION As local Presidents we have a responsibility to promote the recognition of our membership, executive members and activists.

HOW CAN LOCAL PRESIDENTS PROMOTE HONOURS AND AWARDS? IDEAS? Maintain Honours and Awards as a standing agenda item at our AGM’s - talk about awards and do presentations. Create local records containing the years of service of our activists so that service pins can be ordered Post the notices on the bulletin boards, in your local newsletter or on your website Ask to send out notices through the Director re: ICA at United Way time, the UTE scholarship etc. Create a local distribution list which can be helpful for sharing ALL information. Nominate your members for awards.

HOW CAN PRESIDENTS RECOGNIZE MEMBERS AT A LOCAL LEVEL? Thank you letters/cards; Certificates of Appreciation, service, etc.; Union recognition ceremonies - do it publicly; Mention at the AGM; and Mention on the local website or newsletter.

HAVE YOU EVER…. Have you ever been recognized for your work? Have you ever been recognized publicly? Have you ever received a REAL award - something other than a “thank you” (which by the way is totally underrated) WELL????????

THANK YOU! YOUR WORK, DEDICATION, TIME,EFFORT, EXEPERIENCE, DRIVE, PATIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, HARD WORK, ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITY, THOUGHTFULNESS, EMPATHY, AND STRENGTH make UTE better, and make our locals better. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!
