Regional importance of Latin America? Mexico, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Venezuela provide 75% of U.S. crude oil imports. Angola, Iraq, Ecuador and Brazil and Algeria provide an additional 15% of our oil supply. Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil supplied the U.S. with 3,335 million barrels of oil per day (bpd). Including Colombia’s 108 thousand barrels the Latin American region provides 3,443 million bpd. This is approximately 34.9% of the U.S. daily supply (9.860 million bpd).
