 Encourage and support employees with disability to develop and implement inclusive practices for people with disability.  Champion the inclusion of people with disability  Keep inclusion on the agenda in times of competing needs and interests  Open doors, conversations, open minds and create a disability confident culture

 Strong leadership and engagement skills.  Strong desire to be inclusive of people with disability.  Confidence in relating to people with disability.  Be visible and make the time to undertake the role.  Understands the business case and how disability strategies cross all diversity groups and all business units.

 Oversee governance and implementation of the Disability Action Plan (DAP)  Meet with and support the diversity practitioner /enabler  Meet with disability employee networks  Raise awareness internally and externally  Know how to answer:  What happens when someone needs a workplace adjustment?  Who is their ‘go to’ person?  Whose budget does any cost come from?  How engaged/satisfied are employees with disability ?  How do we recruit people with disability?

 Mutual benefit - increasing our collective understanding about the challenges faced, providing an opportunity to inform policy and decision makers and to generate solutions.  Meetings create an opportunity to:  Learn from each other – challenges and successes  Identify opportunities for progress  Encourage and support each other  Seek advice on how to support your internal strategies  Network with like-minded people  Keep informed of contemporary information and relevant research  Give an overview of relevant AND activities
