PROGRESS education sector Highlights To date 36,383 children in school IC MOE Delegation visited Nimba; dialogue with refugees, technical discussions with MOE-Liberia for long-term strategy 5-days Cluster Coordination training held with sector partners NIMBA 20,195 CHILDREN IN ECD & PRIMARY EDUCATION Education activities continue in Buutuo axis, Loguatuo axi, Bahn camp, and Gborplay axis 2,859 children aged 2-5 in ECD centres with 83 caregivers 17,336 children aged 6-12 in Primary Schools with 14 teachers

PROGRESS education sector GRAND GEDEH 12,390 CHILDREN IN ECD & PRIMARY EDUCATION ECD activities for 1,647 children aged caregivers Primary education for 10,743 children aged teachers MARYLAND 3,798 CHILDREN IN ECD, PRIMARY, SECONDARY & YOUTH CENTRE ECD activities for 1,135 children aged caregivers Primary education for 2,663 children aged 6-12 RIVER GEE One public school offering educational opportunities to 200 refugees in Fishtown

WAY FORWARD education sector To continue: Facilitating interaction between MOE of Liberia and IC to finalize action points on refugee education Awareness raising in communities and with parents to encourage children to go back to school, particularly girls Training of teachers & caregivers on child safeguarding & pedagogy Training of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) members on school management Rehabilitation of WASH facilities in schools and communities through PTA and community involvement Strengthening of sector coordination mechanisms and partnerships
