IPE is carrying out research activities in 3 Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) projects:  ASPIRE – “Achieving Energy Sustainability in Peripheral Regions of Europe “(1 October 2006 – 31 March 2009);  “Clearinghouse Support – Paving the way for better energy performance of building in the EU” (1 January 2007 – 31 December 2009);  “Monitoring of Energy Demand Trends and Energy Efficiency in the EU (ODYSSEE MURE (EU-27))” (started on 2007). IPE carried out research activities in INTERREG III C project:  “Network of pioneering communities and regions working on innovative heat energy solutions” (REGENERGY) – 20 partners from 10 EU-countries IPE has coorperation with Joint Research Centre of the European Commission Institute for Environment and Sustainability, Ispra. Participation in the National research programme in Material Science (coordinator- Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia): Project “Materials for photonics and nanoelectronics based on novel functional low molecular organic compounds and polymers” INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL ENERGETICS

 Projects of Fundamental and Applied Research funded by Latvian Council of Sciences – 15 projects.  IPE participates in 4 Joint Research Projects also funded by Latvian Council of Sciences. IPE - coordinator of the project: : “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources as the Basis for Secure Power and Fuel Supply and Sustainable Development of the Latvian Energy Sector”, (2006–2009). In 2007 IPE has 128 scientific publications IPE is publishing scientific journal “Latvian Journal of Physics and Technical Sciences” IPE has 21 registered and maintained patent INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL ENERGETICS
