Make ‘Em Laugh October 1 at 6:00 PM A new movie series, “Make ‘Em Laugh: Classic American Comedies”. The series of 10 movies ranges from 1925 to All movies in the series will be shown on the first Thursday of each month, at 6:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Each free program will still include refreshments, film notes and a post-screening discussion. Tonight's movie is “The General" (1927) starring Buster Keaton.

Monday Movies at NMPL October 5 at 1:00 PM Come view foreign films and discuss them. This month in this free series we will feature “The Attorney.” The film is in Korean with English subtitles. It is not rated and runs 127 minutes. Light refreshments and a discussion will follow the presentation.

Evening Book Discussion October 5 at 6:30 PM Abby Ripley, a New Milford resident, has graciously agreed to be the facilitator of this group and has come up with a terrific list of books. The book for October is “Binocular Vision” by Edith Perlman and the library will provide the books. The group is limited to 10 people, so please call x201 to sign up.

Spinning & Weaving October 8 at 6:00 PM In celebration of Spinning and Weaving week (October ), Jody Hyman will present a hands-on program called “How Does Spinning Work?” The processes involved in hand spinning yarn will be discussed, and participants will get a chance to try them out. This program is limited to 20 and is suitable for teens and adults. Registration is required. Please call x201.

SCORE: Reputation Management October 8 at 8:00 AM Business professionals who are volunteers from SCORE will be conducting a series of workshops. Mobile Accessibility October 19, 21 In this course you will learn how to make your phone and tablet easier to see, hear and use. This class will meet twice during the month from 1:00-3:00 PM. You must attend the Monday session in order to continue with the second half of the class on Wednesday. Registration is required. Please sign up at the library or call x201.

To help parents financial advisor Tom Polowy, MS will speak about how the financial aid system works, college funding strategies, and ways to make college more affordable.
