What is CaputraTalk4Android CaputraTalk4Android provides a range of reading and writing support tools for Android devices : Reading aloud with highlighting web pages, text documents, PDF files and eBooks OCR photos and images & hear text read aloud. Talking word processor to assist editing, proofing and writing of text. File management tools and integrated dictionary (coming soon)

Exploring CaputraTalk4Android

Take a picture, hear the words The built-in scanning tool enables photos and images to be turned into text. These can then be read aloud, saved or edited. Benefits: Learners can independently capture text on whiteboards, notices or paper documents and hear it read aloud. Learners can capture text in reading and text books, annotate in drawing apps before hearing it read aloud.

Reading documents & books CapturaTalk can open and read aloud PDF files or ePub eBooks with synchronised highlighting. Locate & organise files through the Manage tab All text is read aloud with the users chosen interface settings Content can be sent to the Type & Speak tab for editing Benefits: Learners have access to a eBook reader with speech and their preferred interface settings. Learners can read aloud accessible PDFs or OCR PDFs files to access text

Making the internet talk Using the built in browser, CapturaTalk can read aloud accessible text within web pages. Text is read aloud with synchronised highlighting with the users preferred font and colour settings Text can also be captured for later use. Benefits: Users with print impairments are able to access web based content. Research and planning tasks can be assisted by capturing text from web pages.

Using CapturaTalk to improve writing The Type & Speak tab offers basic a word processing environment with speech support. Speech with writing can be used to improve spelling and assist with proof reading. Text can be saved as a file, sent as an , printed or saved to a phrase bank. Benefits: Users with poor spelling can use speech and word prediction to enter and correct spelling independently. Reading back the text can assist users with reading difficulties to identify errors.

Translating text Using online services CapturaTalk is able translate text. If the correct languages are installed, the text can then be read aloud. Benefits: Learners or parents learning English can be supported by accessing text in their native language Reinforce language learning skills through speech output.
