Parent Information on Kindergarten

Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten registration begins March 19, Registration packets will be available at each elementary school beginning on March 19, Children must be five years old on or before November 1, 2012 to enroll in regular kindergarten for the school year.

Transitional Kindergarten Entry Age Parents of children who will turn five years old between November 1, 2012 and December 2, 2012 may obtain and submit registration materials for transitional kindergarten at Dunlap Elementary School. While transitional kindergarten will be located at Dunlap Elementary School, the transitional kindergarten students may attend regular kindergarten at their home elementary school in the following year.

Intradistrict and Interdistrict Transfer Requests to Attend a Specific School in the YCJUSD Parents may request an intradistrict transfer from their home school to attend another school within the YCJUSD. Parents of students who live outside the YCJUSD may request an interdistrict transfer to attend a school in the YCJUSD. Intradistrict and Interdistrict transfer requests are granted based on available space at the requested school. Parents may obtain intradistrict and interdistrict transfer request forms from the receptionist at the district office. Parents may return forms to the receptionist upon completion.
