CETO

No Visual Impact - fully submerged Developed & Proven - over 10 years with onshore, wave tank and in-ocean testing Flexible -operates in variety of water depths, swell directions, tides & seafloor conditions, onshore & offshore power generation Storm Survivability - fully submerged & energy relief system Security - provides emissions free sustainable energy and water security to countries & islands Scalable - modular array design Minimal - environmental impact, co-exists with marine life. Desalination - zero-emission freshwater & co-production possible

CETO – Feb CETO is a fully submerged wave driven pump based technology. A specially designed and tested buoy, the CETO Buoyant Actuator, moves with the energy of the ocean’s waves, below the surface of the water. The Buoyant Actuator is attached to the pump via a tether, and the entire system is moored to the seabed. The Buoyant Actuators movements in harmony with the motion of the passing waves, drives the pumps which in turn pressurise water that then powers an “off the shelf” turbine, producing zero- emission, 100% renewable electricity. The CETO system distinguishes itself from other wave energy devices by operating out of sight and being anchored to the ocean floor.

ENGIE – formerly GDF SUEZ Why prioritize renewable energy? Because it generates little or no greenhouse gas, is available everywhere in the world, and is inexhaustible! These are undeniable advantages and provide an answer to energy requirements, to the security of supply, and to the struggle against climate change. As the largest global generator of non-nuclear power, the largest player in onshore wind power in France, Belgium and Italy, and the second largest hydroelectricity generator in France, GDF SUEZ has made renewable energy a priority for many years. Since the Group’s goal is to increase its renewable energy capacity by 50% between 2009 and 2015, it has no hesitation in investing in all the RE sectors. debate-on-energy-transition/update-on-renewable-energy/ debate-on-energy-transition/update-on-renewable-energy/

World Moves Toward 100 Percent Renewable Energy – First Electricity, Then Heating/Cooling, and Finally Transportation July 31, 2015 The Fukushima prefecture in Japan pledged to transition to 100 percent RE by 2040 after the devastating Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in 2011.The prefecture has made a strong commitment to become energy self-reliant by producing safe, clean energy locally for local consumption. /07/world-moves-toward-100-percent-renewable- energy-first-electricity-then-heating-cooling-and- finally- transportation.html?cmpid=renewable &eid= &bid= /07/world-moves-toward-100-percent-renewable- energy-first-electricity-then-heating-cooling-and- finally- transportation.html?cmpid=renewable &eid= &bid=

As the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, China has made a number moves in the past year to reduce emissions and clean up its environment. Most recently, on June 30, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said China would reduce its carbon intensity, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted per unit of GDP, by 60 to 65 percent of 2005 levels by The pledge comes ahead of the U.N. climate change summit to be held in Paris later this year. Li also reiterated that renewable energy should make up 20 percent of China’s primary energy supply by the same date. change-greenhouse-united-states-policy/
