Friday, September 13, 2013 Linking Verbs(If not completed already) Analyze Poetry If time Independent reading of AR book! Homework: Read for AR for at least 30 minutes. 5 Pts. are due by Sept. 27 th during your class period. Complete Analyzing a Poem.

Linking Verbs  Take out Chapter 16 Verb packet from you’re “My Grammar” section and the yellow verb handout from your “My Grammar/Writing Ref. section.  Look at page 39  A linking verb joins a noun or pronoun near or at the beginning of the sentence with a word at or near the end. The word at the end identifies or describes the noun or pronoun.

One Thing  Finish answering the questions for One Thing by One Direction with your group.

Analyzing A Poem  We will read As I Walked Out One Evening and analyze the poem as a class. We will review figurative language and other vocabulary that was introduced the last two weeks.

Homework  Over the Weekend you need to read The Final Deployment.  Answer the questions on the backside Analyzing a Poem.  Due Monday for a daily grade!!!!

Independent Reading  We stay in our seat and read our book to ourselves.  There is NO TALKING or GETTING OUT OF YOUR SEAT!
