ingenious-science.eu The inGenious initiative

ingenious-science.eu The inGenious initiative inGenious is the European Coordinating Body (ECB) in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Education. A significant initiative partially funded by European Commission FP7 Science in Society programme targeting STEM education Budget of € 8.3 M – 50% EC funding and 50% industry partners

ingenious-science.eu Aims of inGenious To reinforce the link between school – industry collaboration by coordinating and build upon existing school and industry partnerships in the area of STEM education To reinforce young European’s interest in STEM education and careers.

ingenious-science.eu Objectives Increase the links between STEM education and careers by involving up to 1500 classrooms across 15 European countries Test and evaluate innovative approaches and practices targeting primary and secondary school teachers and students in STEM education.

ingenious-science.eu Multi-stakeholder initiative Initiative coordinated by together with: 25 Beneficiary Partners 20 Associate Partners A total of 46 partners

ingenious-science.eu The National Needs Analysis within the context of inGenious

ingenious-science.eu What is a Needs Analysis? Needs Analysis: assessment tool for identifying needs and gaps, between current and desired conditions. Needs analysis within the context of inGenious: To identify the existing challenges and gaps in the current school- industry collaboration Needs analysis within the context of inGenious: To identify the existing challenges and gaps in the current school- industry collaboration Leading to identifying the next steps to further strengthen the school- industry collaboration through recommendations and common strategies to overcome the challenges and gaps in the school-industry collaboration and thus increase the number of young people interested in STEM education and careers
