Social Impacts Of The Use Of IT By Janat

Local Community The local community has been expanded through people buying goods online as opposed to visit shops the advantage thing about this would be you would get varieties of goods that you would like to buy but however it could be a disadvantage because if people buy stuff online the local shops where people used to visit would run out of business and also there daily customers. This would cause the business to a big loss. Also people go online to see the daily news instead of buying newspapers from shops. Employers would have to go out of country to do business they would think it’s a good thing to do but when they have stayed there for long they would be quite devastated to not see there family and also there friends. Also if your away from people where you socialised interacted with you would feel isolated and heartbroken. Facebook is a worldwide social chatting network where people go to socialise with other people from different places or communities, however this could be a disadvantage because they wouldn’t be able to go to socialise with people face to face this could lead to depression and also anxiety. People would go on iTunes to download music and also buy albums that would be more cheaper for them then instead of going to shops and buying them there. Also if people advertised a local fair in there local community and advertised it on Facebook people would know more what the fairs about, where it is located people would be more interested by going there so there are some bad and good points about Facebook. The bad thing about Facebook would be people would use this to annoy people to judge and also bully people online because the person they are bullying they wouldn’t know who it is so they could pose as someone else and that person would never know who it is. Business people who work for a business or for an organisation the advantage for this would be more relaxing for them so there boss or someone isn't constantly watching over them and also you would still spend some time with family and it would be a nice atmosphere to work in.

Availability Of Jobs What if people around the world had a robot working for them example in a sandwich making business, and teaching people would lose there job because the robot would be doing there job for you, people would lose there salary, imagine a person would do self checkout and there was no one there to supervise, people would just take the item with them and without paying. Also if you had a question about the item and there's no one to accompany you or serve you, that would get you really annoyed and you wouldn’t want to go to that supermarket again. Also if you had a robot slave to do all your cleaning and to do any of your other jobs the boss would be more happy with the robot and sack you from your job, you would lose money and also your job you would have to look for a job somewhere else. If that really happened ask yourself would you like it?, would you want to loose your job?, also the robot could make the sandwich all perfect and would have good quality in the sandwiches, this would benefit the business. But however maybe the next day the sandwich wouldn’t be perfect so you wouldn’t really rely on the robot. The sandwich would taste the same as how they would prepare it with the machines. The disadvantage about this would be people would want to try out different things. A robot would work hours a day, this would benefit the staffs that are working there, because they wouldn’t have to worry about the time, and the sandwich would be prepared on time. No breaks required, can work for hours on end. Staff will need to take more breaks this could cause the company to pay more instead of saving more. This could be efficient at times but it cant always be good because people wouldn’t have money to buy stuff, they wouldn’t have money for food.

Inequality In Broadband Access There are now more than 16 million internet shoppers in the UK, spending more than £17 billion each year. The new data reveals that is is 56% of internet shoppers are actually women and men would be 44%. More than 10% of credit card purchases are now related to internet purchases. Consumers are also likely to spend more when buying over the internet than when they shop in the high street this could lead there business to shut down. Both genders would spend more time on the internet because they find cheaper and more varieties of products that they would like to buy. With so many businesses trading online and so much other information on the internet, is it unfair on people without internet access?, the reason to this is some people cant really afford internet access., some Broadband are not available in some rural areas and some places. Also some people don’t really have the IT skills to work a computer, so they would have difficulties to do any online shopping. Imagine a world with no banks and only online banking this would make it hard for people who don’t have internet, and people that don’t have that much money to pay for there broadband. Also information from the government would be on the website, and if flyers wouldn’t be handed out people would miss out on all the information that they need. If there weren't any shops and only online shops, this would also make it hard for the customer because they wouldn’t be able to see the item they want they would just have to guess the size and colour, imagine the item they brought for example a t shirt and a size s, and it came out large you would be quite devastated because you spent a lot of money on that shirt. Also people wouldn't go online to do shopping because they would be scared incase there bank details get hacked or stolen from people who are posing at shops, or are making fake websites this would be a disadvantage for them.
