PULLMAN FARMERS MARKET Katie Lundi - Com Content Strategy Presentation

The Pullman Farmers Market is dedicated to bringing the Pullman area locally grown, fresh foods. Each year the market season typically runs from late May to Early October. There are around vendors selling anything from veggies to handmade soaps and lotions..

Outreach tools Facebook - Reminders on market day. Photos taken at the market. Twitter - Reminders on market day. Tweet at organizations that are related. Flyers - Posted around WSU campus and in town. Info on where the market is. CURRENT CONTENT & OUTREACH

OUTREACH GOALS Keep current followers informed Get current followers to share/tweet about the market to get new followers Overall goal of Facebook, Twitter and flyers are to gain public attention and increase market attendance Eventually use storytelling techniques in content marketing. Right now posts are mostly individual posts to inform people. No link between posts or overall story.

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES Currently the Farmers Market is getting a C+ in the outreach/marketing department. Social media isn’t telling an overall story. Create social media that tells a story about who these people are behind this community event. WSU students need to be more heavily targeted. They make up most of the Pullman population. Make students feel the market is cool. It’s beneficial to go.

CAMPAIGN IDEA #1 Essentially create video documentary content that would be released bi-weekly or monthly. Videos would tell in-depth stories of different farmers. People love an underdog story. What have these farmers gone through to create thriving businesses? THE PEOPLE ARE THE STORY! Hire an extremely hip videographer to create an artistic video that would pull in a younger audience.

CAMPAIGN IDEA #2 ENTERTAINMENT! Hire a band or performer that would attract college students.

CAMPAIGN IDEA #3 #EatLocal College kids love things that are trendy. Create the above hashtag and run with it. Computer/waterbottle stickers to handout on campus. Again with the video idea. Create content that shows why it’s good for people, the environment, and the economy to eat local. Get some big names on social media to tweet #EatLocal
