Out Year Operations and Maintenance Costs Required to Implement/Carry out MVID Rehabilitation Project
West & East MVID Diversions West MVID (rm 3.9) East MVID (rm 43.5)
West MVID Diversion On The Twisp River
East MVID Diversion On The Methow River
Objective 2. Improve instream water quantity and quality within Subbasin. Investigate alternatives to improve low flow conditions in the subwatershed. Initiate a joint study with MVIDs participation to conduct baseline monitoring to determine the relationship of changes to MVIDs irrigation system to winter base flow and groundwater recharge. Strategies Methow Subbasin Summary, Foster 2001
Critical Limiting Factors- Inadequate instream flows. Fish passage issues.
How Limiting Factors Will Be Addressed- O & M monies will be used to operate and maintain improvements made to the MVIDs distribution system (BPA Project Number ). Preclude future diversion of water at West MVID diversion (removal of headgate, etc.) and associated push-up dam. Add cfs to the summer based flow in the lower Twisp River, and increase Methow River summer flows. Increase water depth over shallow riffles. Increase rearing habitat.
Project Objectives To assist in realizing the water conservation, habitat restoration and protection and in-stream flow benefits of the MVID Rehabilitation Project by funding associated Operation and Maintenance costs. Assess habitat conditions for salmonids below the MVID West Diversion.
