The United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to voluntarily align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti- corruption, and to take actions in support of UN Goals, including the Millennium Development Goals

World’s largest Corporate Responsibility initiative with over 10,000 members based in more than 135 countries. Companies sign up to GC because of the conviction that responsible/ethical business practices contribute to a more stable and inclusive global market and help to build prosperous and thriving business.

Globalization has also made business more vulnerable to events happening far outside their traditional sphere of influence. Privatizations and deregulation have led to private companies taking over activities that used to be public, and these companies are expected to act in the best public interest ( private sector accounts app. 90 % of global economy).

Letter of commitment signed By the CEO Fill on-line membership application form Await confirmation from UNGC H/Quarters Implement the principles within the organization Report on Progress yearly (COP compulsory for businesses). COP is based on the spirit of transparency. Failure to submit leads to being listed as non- communicating, then finally expelled from the initiative. No membership subscription
