Capital Semester internship program in Washington D.C. (1 of 3) The Political Journalism track of the Capital Semester program, sponsored by The Fund for American Studies is held each fall and spring in Washington, DC. This academic internship program is for undergraduates seeking to obtain professional experience in the fields of journalism, communications and public relations. The Institute combines substantive internships, courses for academic credit from Georgetown University, career development activities, site briefings and lectures led by working journalists. This fast-paced, fifteen-week residential program provides students from around the world with opportunities to gain the edge in today’s competitive job market and graduate school admissions, and experience the excitement of Washington first-hand. Applications are being accepted for Fall 2011 & Spring FINAL DEADLINE FOR FALL 2011 – JUNE 1, 2011.

(3 of 3) PROGRAM COMPONENTS: Internships – Competitive placements with media outlets and PR & communications firms Classes – 12 credit hours from Georgetown University Housing – Roommate matching and furnished Capitol Hill apartments in the heart of D.C. Guest Lectures – With Washington’s top policy experts and working journalists Site Briefings – At USA Today, the Newseum, World Bank, State Department and U.S. Capitol Leadership & Professional Development – Leadership, mentoring and career building activities Networking – Interaction with seasoned professionals and student leaders from around the world Scholarships – Generous scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial need APPLICATION INFORMATION: Detailed information on the program may be found atwww.DCinternships.org/CSPJ.
