10.Series, editions, and volume information in title field. 9. Abbreviations in title and subtitle fields. 8. Spelling errors. 7. Foreign Language titles marked as English Language. 6. Distribution change – when picking up new line for distribution do not change the original publication dates to the year of your distribution contract. If the books were originally published in 1999 then the publication date should remain 1999 not 2007 when the distribution changed. Doing the basics to maximize sales

5. No grade or age level on juvenile titles. 6. Missing author names and roles (e.g. illustrator; editor) 7. Dummy pub dates – titles that are marked for publication in January 2030 (or whatever the individual publishers default date is) should not be in data feeds until a firm publication date is set. 8. Publication dates – titles should not be marked available if the publication date is in the future. Titles should not be marked not yet published if the pub date is in the past.

1.BISAC Subjects using outdated BISAC lists. Current is 2006 Edition. Mixing fiction and non-fictions code on a title. Mixing adult and juvenile on a title. Using general level codes only – specific codes – at least 3 create sales. Graphic Novels – be vigilant. Doing the basics to maximize sales

Bonus points Send books out for review to appropriate media. A review is the gift that keeps on giving Discount Codes – if providing discount codes then a conversion table must be supplied. The code translations should reflect the terms for the custom class. Always include replacement or previous edition ISBN in appropriate field. (facilitates dragging history)
