Starting a research with the aim of producing a pedagogical material as result of this project such as it is described above. 9. Organization of the second meeting of the project in Badajoz-Spain.

RESEARCH The Education Department of Junta de Extremadura, with its office in Badajoz, provides us a list of public schools of primary education in Badajoz and the region. 283 schools in total, 38 of them are a concern of the capital.

Our first step was sending an to all the centres explaining the nature of the project. After that, we made a selection taking into account the following criteria: rural / urban area number of inhabitants The result was a list of 115 schools. This is 40 % of the total of schools from Badajoz and the region. All centres from Badajoz were included in the selection.

When the list was made, we start with some telephonic calls to talk to the principals or the directors of studies, we share our project with them and they provide us the different nationalities existing in their centres. Thanks to these contacts we concluded the following information:

There is a great variety of nationalities in Badajoz and the region but at the same time we talk about groups not excessively large (for example: in centres with students, there is a maximum of immigrants, being this the maximum case we found).

Nationalities EUROPEAMERICAAFRICAASIA GERMANYARGENTINAMOROCCOCHINA BELARUSBRAZILSENEGAL BULGARIABOLIVIA SLOVAKIACHILE HOLLANDCOLOMBIA ENGLANDCUBA ITALYECUADOR POLANDEL SALVADOR PORTUGALMEXICO ROMANIAPANAMA RUSSIADOMINICAN REPUBLIC UKRAINEURUGUAY VENEZUELA

As it is appreciated there are many nationalities but the ones with an specific weight in our society are:Europe Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Romania y RussiaAmerica Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican RepublicAfrica MoroccoAsia China

This year, and within the corresponding period of the first year of project, we focus on the European context designing a pedagogical material that can be used by professionals of primary education. This material has as objective the knowledge of the most important nationalities with which we live.
