What do we do? We work in partnership to protect children and young people from exploitation – from the e-world to the real world

Aims and Objectives To identify, locate and protect children and young people from sexual exploitation and online abuse – both in the UK and globally To engage and empower children, young people, parents and the community through information and education To protect children and young people through the provision of specialist information and support to professionals families and industry and community To enforce the law by bringing offenders to justice and acting to disrupt and deter future offending To enhance existing responses to the sexual exploitation and online abuse of children and young people by developing a safe by design online environment and refining the management of offenders

Achievements 112 children rescued from abuse 173 offenders arrested 12 of UK’s high risk offenders located 3 organised paedophile rings smashed 5 of 8 “most wanted” located 5,553 referrals 1.1m children/young people trained - UK (11-16) 4,700 trainers delivering TUK

TUK - Statistics 55% access the internet everyday 47% for an hour or more 21% liked IM/Chat the most 15% used gaming sites 11% used Social Networking sites 33% had access in their bedrooms 25% have met someone offline 83% have taken another child
