Why? Summer, internship & job searching Grad schools LinkedIn & other social media

Target your resume Analyze each point listed in the job description Check out key components: qualifications, experience required, “soft skills”, the job itself, term, company environment, etc. Pull out key words – “power words” – and use them in your application Reference their key criteria in your cover letter and/or resume

Cover Letter Writing Important hints: Research the company – make sure you understand their values and goals. Make allusions to them in your cover letter. Be clear and concise. Don’t use language which is too formal. Be passionate and keen. Show that you really want the position and that you are the best for the job. Make it targeted. Never send a form letter.
