Lesson Objectives... Students will be able to: - Describe the components of fitness - Explain the difference between physical activity and physical fitness - Identify the benefits of health - Identify activities that promote each type of exercise - Define sedentary lifestyle - Explain the difference between anaerobic and aerobic exercises

Test to measure strength and endurance are sit-ups, push-ups, flexed arm hang. How can muscular strength & endurance help give you good posture and fewer back problems?

Flexibility Flexibility can increase your athletic performance, help you feel comfortable, reduce risk of strain & injury. Sit & Reach & the Hand Touch are two ways to test flexibility.

Aerobic Exercise: any activity that uses large muscle groups and is rhythmic in nature. Anaerobic Exercise: intense short bursts of activity in which muscles work so hard they produce energy without using oxygen.
