Democracy – government exercised directly through the people or elected representatives Republic - a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them Absolute Monarch – a country that is ruled by a monarch (king or queen)

Constitutional Monarchy – monarch who governs under the confines and limits of a constitution. Aristocracy – a government run by higher society of people who own most of the land. Oligarchy – government by a few people. Theocracy – government by a religious group
