Three–Dimensional Figures Today you will learn to: identify and classify three-dimensional figures describe plane sections of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids. M07.C-G.1.1.4: Describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing three-dimensional figures.

What are three-dimensional figures? A three-dimensional figure is an object that has length, width, and height, which means that it can be measured in three directions. A three-dimensional figure encloses a part of space; in other words it can hold something (water, air, etc.)

Features of a Three- Dimensional Figure Faces Edge Vertex Edge- formed by two faces of a 3-D figure sharing a side Vertex (plural: vertices)- the point at which three or more edges meet Face- the flat surface of a figure
