WP5 - Mapping Indian Research Potential Sourabha Rani, ITSMA, INDIA Activities for Year 5 & 6

Objective of WP5 (Y1-Y4) Specific Objectives To develop a contact repository of Indian researchers To conduct a survey on current trends and scenarios in the Indian Environment Sector To facilitate match-making between Indian and EU entities To disseminate FP7 opportunities through events Broad Objectives  To map the Indian Environment Research organizations  To enhance EU-India collaboration in FP7

Year 5 & 6 Activities Task Database maintenance and updating Task Assessment of Indian Participants in FP7 projects and EU-India coordinated call projects Task Mapping the project results with the Indian database Task Event to promote and Disseminate H2020 Activities foreseen for period March 2013 – June 2014

Task Assessment of Indian Participants in FP7 projects and EU-India coordinated call projects A questionnaire based survey 19 FP7 projects with Indian partners 5 EU-India co-funded (collaborative) projects in the Water Sector (under Environment theme) Both EU and Indian project coordinators and the Indian partners will be requested to take up the survey.

Questionnaire The questionnaire will address – the scientific and research results of their project – project result uptake, new technologies, new knowledge, innovative outcomes of the project – Exploitation of knowledge - taking research results to market, knowledge sharing, co-creation of knowledge, technology transfer models that were involved in these projects. – project execution, management and administrative aspects & partnership experiences like reporting and deliverables, project coordination, funding models, sharing of IPs, etc. – Willingness to participate in H2020 will also be assessed

EU-India Coordinated projects This will be the model followed in H2020 The positives and negatives of coordinated call type of projects will be assessed the kind of organizations that would be interested in such collaborative models, the involvement of (local) governments, the type of topics that will be of interest for future calls, industry interests in uptake of project results, etc.

T5.7 contd.. Sub tasks Three sub tasks of this task are as follows: – – Questionnaire development – the questionnaire will be sent to the EC for review and feedback – May 2013 – – Data collection – September 2013 – – Analysis of survey results – Nov 2013

Task 5.8 – Mapping the project results with the Indian database Aim is to identify potential entities (esp. industries) that could take up the project results map the new technologies, processes, research results identified under T5.7 with the industries’ expertise recorded in the Indian database For e.g. mapping the technologies that match water management industries, waste water reuse, agricultural research projects, etc.

Task 5.9 Event to promote and Disseminate H2020 One large event will be organized in the first quarter of 2014 to disseminate H2020 programme and to promote Indian participation Venue - New Delhi or Bangalore, Mumbai or Chennai The event structure will be developed based on H2020 model and the topics decided for collaboration with India
