3 Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) – what is it? Aim: “one-stop shop” to meet all the information needs of SMEs and companies in Europe. 600 different organisations encompassing over 4,000 staff in over 40 countries Chambers of Commerce, RDAs or DAs or University technology centres Designed for SMEs but available to all businesses, research centres and universities across Europe Aspires to be a two-way network bringing the European Commission closer to businesses and vice versa Services are free of charge

Info on:  EU Directives, Regulations and Standards  Public Sector Procurement and Contract Opportunities  Grant Finding  Trading in Europe Feedback concerns and problems to the Commission Conduct Impact Assessment studies and consultation exercises on specific policies and legislation

Support for innovation and technology transfer: Dissemination and exploitation of research results Identifying client technology ‘needs’ and/or technology ‘offers’ Finding suitable partners for further development, commercialisation, joint ventures etc. Facilitating the technology/knowledge transfer process. Providing Brokerage services across Europe Facilitating access to collaborative R&D Funding

7 EEN – how can we help? Wales European Collaboration Fund - Proposal Preparation - Travel Assistance Stimulate the capacity of Welsh businesses and Higher Education Institutes to participate in the Collaborative R&D projects.

Proposal preparation Assistance with external costs of developing and submitting proposals; FP7 TSB Costs of any engagement of specific expertise to enable effective negotiations and conclusion of consortium agreement and/ or contract with the EC is also eligible. N.B. Please note, the cost of external consultants who intend to take part in the research project are not eligible for support

9 EEN – how can we help? Travel Assistance with eligible European overseas travel and accommodation costs involved in; Identifying and building consortia for FP7 projects. Negotiation of FP7 contracts. Technology transfer activities - meeting prospective collaborative partners for licensing or for R&D projects. Attendance at specific conferences and exhibitions where technology transfer meetings have been pre- booked
