What Do Hurricanes Have to Do with Global Warming? Global Warming makes the hurricane get bigger because of the heat in the water

Hurricane Katrina on August 28, The city of New Orleans, Louisiana, was completely devastated and destroyed by the powerful winds of an enormous hurricane known as Hurricane Katrina.

What Happened After the Hurricane? At first it was not strong enough to do any major damage or hurt many people. At this time, it was crossing over Florida into the Gulf of Mexico (from the light blue dots to the red dots). the hurricane broke every thing up and every thing looks nasty and broken up

What is Energy? Energy is in everything. We use energy for everything we do, from making a jump shot to baking cookies to sending astronauts into space. There are two types of energy: Stored (potential) energy Working (kinetic) energy For example, the food you eat contains chemical energy, and your body stores this energy until you use it when you work or play.

Non-Renewable Energy] When we use electricity in our home, the electrical power was probably generated by burning coal or by a nuclear reaction. Therefore, coal and nuclear are called energy sources. When we fill up a gas tank, the source might be petroleum or ethanol made by growing and processing corn.

[Source of Renewable energy] Energy sources are divided into two groups — renewable (an energy source that can be easily replenished) and nonrenewable (an energy source that we are using up and cannot recreate). Renewable and nonrenewable energy sources can be used to produce secondary energy sources including electricity and hydrogen. Solar energy from the sun, which can be turned into electricity and heat, is a type of renewable energy Wind is another type of renewable energy

What is Recycling? Recycling is when you reuse garbage. You can make different things out of plastic, etc.

Why Should We Recycle? We should recycle because it can help the earth stay alive and we can be safe. We could save money by recycling and safe up for something good. So people don’t have so much bottles cans and paper in their house.

How Do We Recycle? Paper, bottles, cans, and cardboard are put it in the blue bins so they can be recycled. Make sure you remove all caps from bottles
