7. Hurricane Katrina This is exactly what was happening on Earth on August 28, 2005. The city of New Orleans, Louisiana, was completely devastated and destroyed by the powerful winds of an enormous hurricane known as Hurricane Katrina. So what’s the story behind this hurricane? At first it was not strong enough to do any major damage or hurt many people.
