Basic communication:  Faxes behave in a very polite way.  They start with handshaking.  Introducing each other at the beginning, and informing each other of their capabilities.  Messenger transmits data as fast or slow as the listener can receive.  The messenger will not send or receive before setting the correct transmission speed.  Messenger will always confirm to the listener if he has understood or not.  If the listener did not understand, the messenger will repeat exactly what he missed. (ECM mode)  If the listener did not understand, the messenger will tell his boss. (Non-ECM mode)  They don’t leave without saying “Bye (DCN)”

Basic protocol (up to 14400bps) Hello. I’m G3 Fax. OK, then I’m sending fax in this mode. Can you hear it clear? Hello. I can receive fax with the following mode. No Problem OK. So …. That’s all. OK, understood. Thank you. Bye.

Basic protocol (Super G3) Hello. I’m G3 Fax. OK, then Let’s test to decide the signal speed. Yes. Because it was no Problem OK. So …. … That’s all. OK, understood. Thank you. Bye. Hello. I’m Super G3 Fax. Oh, me too. I’m sending images in this mode. Then how about this image transmission speed? I can receive fax with the following mode. Please send the signal in xxxxx bps.

Note: Fax/Tel Switch  With pseudo CI function  The fax can ring the remote telephone, so it may help customers who install the fax and the phone in separate rooms.  Hi-end Fax (More than Fax-L380 series)  Without pseudo CI function  The fax can ring itself instead of the connected telephone or the handset, so it’s suitable for customer whose desk is close to the fax.  Laser MFP and Low-end Fax (up to Fax-L295)
