THE CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION] Based on Romans 11:33-36 How deep and profound IS THE WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE possessed by God; HIS DECISIONS CANNOT BE COMPREHENDED by mortal beings NOR CAN HIS PATHS BE TRACED by human ways;

NO ONE CAN KNOW the mind of the Lord NOR DOES HE NEED OUR ADVICE; God does not need anything we have FOR ALL WE POSSESS already belongs to Him; EVERYTHING WAS CREATED BY HIM and all things exist through Him and for Him. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER.

**THE OPENING HYMN #414 O WORD OF GOD INCARNATE [ All who are able please stand ]

(1) O Word of God incarnate, O Wisdom from on high, O Truth unchanged, unchanging, O Light of our dark sky: we praise you for the radiance that from the hallowed page, a lantern to our footsteps, shines on from age to age.

(2) The Church from you, our Savior, received the gift divine, and still that light is lifted o'er all the earth to shine. It is the sacred vessel where gems of truth are stored; it is the heaven-drawn picture of Christ, the living Word.

(3) The Scripture is a banner before God's host unfurled; it is a shining beacon above the darkling world. It is the chart and compass that o'er life's surging tide, mid mists and rocks and quicksands, to you, O Christ, will guide.

(4) O make your Church, dear Savior, a lamp of purest gold, to bear before the nations your true light as of old. O teach your wandering pilgrims by this their path to trace, till, clouds and darkness ended, they see you face to face.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, God is faithful and has the authority to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all we have done wrong.

THE SONG OF RESPONSE (See Screen – DVD) ‘HE HAS MADE ME GLAD’

A TIME OF SHARING WITH GOD’S CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

THE HEBREW SCRIPTURE PROVERBS 8:1-4; 22-31; 9:10 Deacon Melinda Post Does not Wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, Wisdom takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, Wisdom cries aloud: To you, O men and women, Wisdom calls out; Wisdom raises its voice to all humankind. The Lord brought forth Wisdom as the first of his works, before His deeds of old;

Wisdom was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. When there were no oceans, Wisdom was given birth. When there were no springs abounding with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, Wisdom was given birth, before God made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. Wisdom was there when God set the heavens in place, when God marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, when God established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, when God gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, when God marked out the foundations of the earth.

Wisdom was the craftsman at God’s side. Wisdom was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in God’s presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in humankind. Reverence for the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

THE SONG OF PREPARATION #119 ‘JESUS, YOUR NAME IS LIFE’

1-Jesus, Your name is power, Jesus, Your name is might, Jesus, Your name will break every stronghold, Jesus, Your name is life. 2-Jesus, Your name is healing, Jesus, Your name gives sight, Jesus, Your name will free every captive, Jesus, Your name is life.

3-Jesus, Your name is holy, Jesus, Your name brings light, Jesus, Your name above every other, Jesus, Your name is life. 4-Jesus, Your name is power, Jesus, Your name is might, Jesus, Your name will break every stronghold, Jesus, Your name is life.

THE SERMON: ‘FROM WHERE DOES WISDOM COME’ Text: Proverbs 8:1-4; 22-31; 9:10 Bayshore Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein Please see sermon outline

WISDOM, WHAT ARE YOU? AND WHERE CAN I FIND YOU? Proverbs 8:23-27

The Starting Point Of Wisdom Is  Willingly including God in our lives  Recognizing that God is the Creator and that we are the created ones  Remembering that God is the Potter and that we are the clay.

WISDOM IS carefully using our knowledge to make choices, conclusions, decisions that demonstrate our reverence, honor and respect for God.

Proverbs 8:2 On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, at the cross roads WISDOM TAKES HER STAND. Wisdom concerns how we use our knowledge. And it all begins with reverence for the Lord.

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN.

OUR OFFERING As A Tangible Expression Of Our Gratitude To God, We Joyfully Offer Our Monetary Gifts To Financially Support God's Work At Bayshore Gardens Community Church

OFFERTORY MUSIC “In His Keeping ” Harriet Hoeksema, organist

THE DOXOLOGY PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW; PRAISE HIM ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW; PRAISE HIM ABOVE YE HEAVENLY HOST; PRAISE FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST. AMEN

**THE CLOSING HYMN ‘WHERE CAN ONE LOOK FOR WISDOM?’ Tune: “Work For The Night Is Coming” [ All who are able please stand ]

(1) Where can one look for wisdom? Where understanding find? Man does not grasp its value— More than can be mined. It can’t be bought with finest gold, Silver, or jewels so rare. Priced far beyond all rubies, Nothing can compare.

(2) Where then does wisdom come from? Where understanding dwell? God comprehends the pathway, He alone knows well. He views the ends of all the earth; He sees the world He formed. He has established wisdom, Tested and confirmed.

(3) Honoring the Lord is wisdom; Seek it and you will find. Cry out for understanding; Let it fill your mind. Search as for hidden treasure; Look for it every day. This is the path to wisdom; Follow all the way.

THE PASTORAL BENEDICTION Go forth from this place as God’s elect and covenant people... AMEN
