Disability Living Allowance Worked on the project Zhirnova Anya

If you need help with personal care or have problems with mobility, you may be eligible for disability benefits, but only if you are in such a state already spent three months and are confident that the aid will need at least another six months. If you have a progressive disease you can get DLA faster without having to wait three months (this is called the special conditions).

To receive disability benefits, your condition must be severe enough and you will need to prove that you need help with washing, dressing, cooking and eating, or that you are unable to get to the toilet, or to communicate with other people. Maybe you need constant supervision, so that you do not put yourself in danger, or need help when you are doing dialysis.

There are three levels of disability, depending on what level of supervision you need. The lowest level: If you need help only in some time of the day or you will not be able to cook their own food. You can pay up to £ a week. Mid-range: If you need help during the day and at night only child, or someone to be with you until you are on dialysis. You get £ per week. High level: If you need assistance or supervision during the day and night. In that case you will get up to £ 73,60 per week.

To get invalidnot mobility, your disability must be severe enough. You need to have mobility difficulties, even with special equipment if you use it. For example, because of physical disability you are unable or virtually unable to walk without severe discomfort, or doing something, you endanger your life or call deterioration of health, or you do not have legs or feet. There are two levels of disability mobility depending on how the disability affects you. Lower level: If you need assistance or supervision just outside of your home. You can get up to £ 19,55 per week. Higher: If you have more severe walking difficulties. You can get to £ 51,40 per week.

Your disability is considered to be the highest level in vision loss or serious mental disorders. You may be entitled to attendance allowance, or mobility, or both.
