What are the Labor Laws for teens?  year-olds can work 16 hours a week Up to 3 hours on a school day Up to 40 hours a week when school is not in session Some exceptions if you are in a work program  years and above can work 20 hours 40 hours during non-school weeks Some jobs are defined as hazardous like construction jobs; teens can’t do these SOURCE: U.S.Department of Labor, Teen Labor Laws
