 · Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)  · Understand payment systems, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payment  · Advanced knowledge of the current International Classification of Disease coding system for long-term care and its application  · Thorough knowledge of documentation and legal issues pertaining to health information  · Demonstrated project management skills to effectively manage multiple concurrent activities, with distinct and competing deadlines  · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills  · Experience with computerized data systems  · Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and department heads  · Ability to assemble and review admission and discharge records  · Experience providing Raving Fan customer service  · Empathy for elderly patients and sensitivity to patient and family needs or concerns  · Work experience in a long-term care and/or rehabilitation center  · Knowledge of applicable regulations, the survey process, accreditation standards and professional standards of practice appropriate to long-term care  · Previous supervisory experience  · The ability to function as part of a multi- disciplinary patient care team
