 Described in reports like the “Scientific Foundations of Future Physicians” and “Behavioral and Social Science Foundations for Future Physicians”  Based on the application of knowledge, rather than memorization  Asks users to apply their knowledge to solve problems  Less didactic, often includes greater (and earlier) clinical exposure (“helix” approach).
