2. What do we do
We help student prepare for graduate-level health professions programs in:
Medicine, Dentistry, Physician Assistant Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Public Health, Optometry, Advanced Nursing, non-UW Pharmacy programs, Chiropractic and Podiatric Medicine
This includes
Helping students with course planning
Connecting students with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Preparing for the application process

Mandatory course for freshman, but optional for transfer students

Monthly webinars
Weekly “office hours” (like drop ins)
Information on applications and timing
Resources to help students start planning courses, help them get involved, and help them keep track of their experiences

*We recommend that you take at least one math course and one course in statistics. Note that Math 112 is a pre-requisite for Chem 103.

5. AP Credit
If a student has AP Biology credits, they can consider Biology 152
If a student has AP Chemistry credits, they can consider Chem 109 (they might have to take more general Chemistry during a later semester)
If a student has AP credit for Calculus, no more Math is necessary (unless required for a possible major)
If a student has AP English or literature credits, they should consider I/A courses while in college
Note: Most medical schools will want to see some I/A coursework if a student has AP credit for a pre-requisite course. A few medical schools won’t accept any AP credits for pre-requisite courses.
