EMERGENCE OF ITC LIMITED  ITC started off as the Imperial Tobacco Company, and shares ancestry with Imperial Tobacco the United Kingdom, but since august it is fully independent, and was renamed to Indian Tobacco Company in 1970 and then to ITC Limited in  The company is currently headed by Yogesh Chander Deveshwar.
