The 13 colonies The 13 colonies By: Mairen Mrs. Little’s class

Where I will choose to live  I will decide to live in the middle colony. I chose the middle colony because unlike the New England colonies and the Southern colony the geography was better for growing crops.

Religious Reasons  The religion in the middle colony had more religion than the New England colony. Schools were largely religious. Kids were taught by only one religion.

Reasons for Settlement  The Middle colony has better weather, they also don’t have as much diseases in the community.  The middle colony also more fertile soil which was better for planting.

Geography  The geography of the middle colony has fertile soil, different from The New England colony which contained more rocky soil.

Climate  The climate in the middle colony is very mild. The temperature can get cold, and possibly it could snow. Other than that the climate is great for planting and other activities.

Food  Some food you might get back then from the 13 colonies might possibly could be is peanut soup made mostly of peanuts and other herbs. Welsh rabbit was a delicacy for the people. Pumpkin gnocci was a favorite for the people made out of lots of pumpkin, eggs, and flower. 

Education  The schools in the middle colonies were largely religious. The kids were taught by only one religion. Most of the schools were very private. Girl were not allowed to attend unless they Quakers.

Conclusion  After I did research I conclude that if I had to move the middle colony it is a perfect place to live and grow up. The middle colonies will be a great and new place to start a better life.
