 Activity- and inquiry –based  Students make discoveries  Discuss science targets with students  Attendance is essential  Make an appointment - science teachers are available before and after school, as well as during Supervised Study

 Students will be able to successfully meet district targets in U.S. History by: ◦ Historical reading skills ◦ Folder, textbook, assignments ◦ Listening carefully and following directions ◦ Asking questions ◦ Completing assignments carefully and on time ◦ Always being respectful

 Initial assignment - Read & reread directions & target - Review notes and/or section in textbook - Ask for help/clarification when the assignment is first given - Check Homework Connection & Canvas (especially in the case of an absence)  After the assignment is scored - Read over your score and comments - Make an appointment with teacher during Sup. Study to discuss work - Make an appointment to meet with teacher, family & student (last option)

 Infinite Campus - 24/7 access to grades, comments, etc. -No surprises! Once a grade is entered, it’s “live” - Shows scores, comments, and other notes from teachers (missing, exempt, late, etc.)  Family conversations - At least once a week - Review Infinite Campus, progress, strengths, accomplishments, areas that need improvement - Ask to see artifacts/examples of work  Self-advocacy - Encourage students to meet with teachers to problem solve - Set up teacher/family/student conference after all other strategies have been exhausted
