The Uses of Masks 1. Masks had a lot of uses in ancient times.  Some tribes wear masks during festivals.  They believe masks give them special power. 2. In some theatrical performances and dances, performers use masks to help them play their roles.

Showing Feeling  Masks can be made to express specific thoughts and feeling.  We always use concave and convex forms in masks.  They create different visual effects.  Different masks have different facial expression.

For example  A surprised look and a fierce look

Role Play  Masks are often used in drama.  They can help artists to play the roles of animal or mythical characters.

Some interesting examples

Let’s to make a mask!  Use some small pieces of newspaper to stick on a plastic mask with the white glue.  Use the paper clay to make some concave or convex form on the surface of the mask.  Use the small piece of rice paper to cover the paper clay with white glue.  After it become dry, we can stick some objects on the surface to decorate the mask and paint the different colours on it.

And then… … FINISH!

Let’s enjoy the fun of creating your own mask Bye bye!
