Policies A policy is a principle or rule that guides decisions Two main policies when dealing with foreign affairs Isolationism – withdraw from world affairs Ignore what is going on in other countries, mind our own business Interventionism – get involved Arms Control - agreements to restrict the development of weapons of mass destruction Foreign Aid – Helping other countries with food, money, protection, etc Economic Sanctions/Embargo – refusing to trade with another country
