Alliances – Since WWII, the U.S. has become heavily involved in world affairs Defense Alliance: NATO — North Atlantic Treaty Organization Economic Alliance: NAFTA — North American Free Trade Agreement 2. Foreign Aid – Most economic aid is handled by the USAID (the U.S. Agency for International Development) and most military aid handled by the Defense Dept.
